We are currently residing in the very diverse, Houston, Texas, in a house we remodeled into the perfect family home. The chickens, while a bit neglected are still kicking it in the backyard. Hana loves to run to the french doors on the back of the house screaming "bawk bawk". Life is always busy, fun, and we wouldn't want it any other way.
Shawn is still at IBM, working in their wealth management practice. He's currently tied for the lead in his football pick-em pool but putting up a mediocre performance in his fantasy football league. He discovered he enjoys ceramic wheel throwing after receiving a class for his birthday. Shawn has kept up with running while counteracting all that work with brisket and ribs that he smokes on the weekends.
Melanie celebrated four years at Arctic IT working on their commercial projects but has recently begun a transfer to their Tribal division. She keeps busy with a multitude of hobbies and projects. There are fewer finished objects but the sewing machine(s) and knitting needles are not collecting dust. Melanie took a position on the executive committee of Hana's school parent-teacher organization, which helps her engage in Hana's day-to-day.Â
Hana is growing and changing every day. She is a little spitfire who has a silly sense of humor. She is OBSESSED with Elmo, everything has to be Elmo, and the answer to most questions is "Elmo". Hana is a little chatterbox who prefers to be outside. She loves playing ball and will be starting soccer in January. Hana loves school and is loved by her teachers and classmates alike. She's currently enrolled in the school's gymnastic class that takes place on a converted trolley called the "Jolly Trolley". It's her favorite part of the week.
Millie, Billie, and Nugget have gone through "henopause", this time for real. We have resorted to buying our eggs, while also buying chicken feed and chicken treats. The girls are really loving their freeloading lifestyle.
