We are currently residing in the very diverse, Houston, Texas, in a house we remodeled into the perfect family home. We're down one chicken but the other two are still kicking it in the backyard. Hana loves to run to the french doors on the back of the house screaming "bawk bawk". Life is always busy, fun, and we wouldn't want it any other way.
Shawn is in year sixteen at IBM! He puts up above average numbers in his fantasy football league and pick-em pools but isn't likely to take home the top prize. You might as well call him Bill...Buffalo Bill. He got a Kindle for his birthday and has read over twenty books in five months. He's still running, taking Hana out in the jogging stroller a few times a week. He's also trying to get back into cycling. Anything to keep him active since he's really fallen in love with the Houston food scene.
Melanie just hit her five year milestone at Arctic IT. She spent at lot of time on the road in 2025 and looks forward to less travel in 2026. In her free time, she has been focused on her physical health this year, going to class at Orange Theory a few times a week and running when Houston temps permit. She's still heavily involved at Hana's school and manages to sneak in a craft project here and there.
Hana is growing every day. She is so creative and loves perform and do art projects any chance she gets. She is thriving at school and has a great group of friends there. Hana adores her teachers and likes to emulate their leadership at home. Hana has endless energy that we try to channel in soccer, dance, and music class. She spends a lot of time outside, playing in our driveway, bouncing in her bounce house, and zooming up and down the street on her scooter.Â
We lost Nugget earlier this year to a possum. Millie and Billie are around. Hana is working on building a friendship with them. They are less than enthusiastic about this development but since they're freeloading birds, we're not going to stop it.
